If your laptop has only 10 GB hard disk, I wonder how old it is? 2000? And you run XP pro on it? You must be a wizard.

I think you're better of spending $400 on a brand new Acer or similar, and get 100+ GB, 1G RAM, etc.

But if you still wanna stand by the old man, why not make a complete backup of the laptop, both partitions, onto an external HDD, then reformat / reinstall XP... That would be your safest bet. Plus, you've got a backup.

1 Get a bigger Hard drive and transfer your data

2 There are a number of programs available (eg PartitionMagic) that will allow you to do what you want to do without destroying the data.

If you look on the web, I am sure you could find such a utility available as Freeware or Shareware.

3 Get a Bigger Hard Drive- I partition my hard drives as yours has been, with a seperate partition for XP. I allow 10 Gb just for that one.

Good luck

I agreed with Elf.... It would be easier for you to go out and buy yourself a new HDD. They are plenty of them out there, starting at $40 and up! Depends on the size you want. Of course you need to back them up to an external HDD or flash drive and after install the new HDD and all the works (OS, software... etc..) you can put the files back where you want them. This might take more work, but for the long run, it might be the best way to do it.

If you want to combine your HDD into one, and keep the files, you need some sort of program such as partition magic.

Another way is to back up your files and folders and format the HDD and re-install the OS. You can back it up to an external HDD or flash drive.

Your call.

Hope this helps.

10GB total? Replace the drive with a bigger one and re-install XP.
