i have a dell inspiron 510m. it has been failed to work and i need to get some of my files from its hdd. it's very important. can i do this? with what device? usb transporter? and sth else my file is locked with "folder lock". if i boot with my desktop, can i access my files that locked?

i have remembered all the password. my question is the program workin on the another os? they 're not encrypted. just locked.

You can buy a laptop hdd USB case. The hard drive plugs in like a jiffy and plugs into a USB port. They are usually around 20 -30 bucks. My wife's dell crapped out and that is how we retrieved all the data. Its now a very handy back up drive (no power required).

You can network your laptop with your desktop PC so you can access the files on the other computer and use its hard drive as if its an extension of your laptop.

If you encrypted the folders and don't have the password, you're beat.
