As in "half" do you mean half-Ironman? If so, then you should be well into your training by now and not asking this question only 4 months out!!! Swimming 9/10ths of a mile isn't half-IM distance anyway, 1.2 miles is. 9/10s sounds more like an Olympic distance. Anyways, if you get in and train 3 to 4 times a week until your taper you'll be fine. Just work on getting time in the pool and doing plenty of "swike" bricks between now and then. I hope you have a good training plan that already includes the workouts you need to make this distance, if not, you need to get one, pronto!

You can do it if you train for it. Its not as bad as it sounds. Good luck and I hope this helps.....
