I don't believe so; at least not all the time. While there are many benefits to being practical, it's good (and fun!) to enjoy life every now and then. Everything in moderation.

For the most practical sides of life, yes. As in: personal responsibilities to home, job and country. That should not require a definition.
The rest should be left to spontaneity...love and laughter.

Not all. You have to decide what is important and treat it as such. Often, you'll find that practicality doesn't apply to the important stuff because practicality can require compromise on some level. There's issues in my world that I will not compromise on.
