I want to start fresh and restore my system, but I can't find the restore disc. I have a Dell computer. I was wondering if anybody knew a way I could restore my computer without that disc. I have a few discs, but I'm not sure which one to use; they're pretty unclear. The anti-virus software I have are AVG, spybot and Ad-aware. AVG is not stalling mid-scan, so that's not getting me anywhere. The rest of them catch some but can't get all of it. Now everything's slow, and popups keep flooding in. I can't even uninstall programs, because of these viruses. Could anybody give me a hand with all this?

Best bet is to reload from the recovery disks, and yes they are usually made from files on the hard drive. I would advise calling Dell and asking them to send you recovery disks for your specific machine, they sometimes charge $20 or so, but I always contact the manufacturer when I get a new computer and have them send me the CD's. I have never had much luck with the recovery systems they provide on the hard drives.

Read the Dell User Manual, your Recovery CD's must be burned from the hard drive.

The reason none of your security tools work is because your PC is so infected that you must Start over with a Clean version of Windows.

Your Recovery CDs will fix all, but back up your personal data first.

Still stuck, Call Dell tech support.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:
