There are many college and high school level test books on the Bible, Book of Mormon, D&C etc that are used in religion classes at LDS Intestitutes across many college campuses and at BYU. Look on the BYU bookstore webpage for these various religon class text books and they can be a great resouce in your study of the scriptures.

Unlike the BoM, the Bible is true. Look in the back of any Bible and you will find detailed maps of the places and events which happened in Biblical times. Most archaeologists and historians agree that the Bible is very accurate and historically verifiable an most of the major events and places like Rome, Egypt ect.ect.
By contrast, the BoM has no maps in the back and even their churchs own historians and archaeologists have been excommunicated for publicly stating the obvious conclusion that the whole thing is a total fraud.
The Pearl of Great Price contains the Book of Abraham in which Joey so generously provided all the proof anyone would need to show beyond a reasonable doubt that he was a total fraud. He included Facsimilies in which he also gave his interpretations as to what they meant right in the POGP.
All Egyptologists unanimously say the facsimilies have nothing to do whatsoever with the book of abraham and were simply common funarary texts that went with the mummies that Joey bought from a travelling circus in the 1830's.
If you recently converted, do your homework online and you will be amazed at what you find . www.exmormon.org

I usually set aside 20-30 minutes a day for scripture study. I start with a prayer and keep a pen and paper handy so I can write down anything that has special meaning to me or things I want to research. Also, the church website has the scriptures on line along with study helps:

As an LDS member it should be quite easy to obtain all four of those scriptures, and if you get a standar set, they all have footnotes, and there's also a topical guide and a bible dictionary that ties all four of them together very well. Just pick a topic look it up in the topical guide and bible dictionary and you'll get numerous references and lots of information and keep going.

maybe you could get together with someone who has studied the scriptures and ask if they'd help you out and answer all your questions.

First, i'd address your conversion to the LDS. You should know about the many, many errors in the Mormon religion, but, you should find this out for yourself. Check out this link for some information on the book of Mormon; http://www.catholic.com/library/Problems_with_the_Book_of_Mormon.asp
