why is it not fair? as not fun as it is, it is a completely nessesary thing that you will have to do at one time or another in you life. I doubt you wll be in your bathroom for hours scrubbing the toilet. its like a twenty minute chore. its no biggie at all. trying to get out of it might just make it worse, that is how my parents used to be.

Life is not fair.

Do you want ALL the excuses to avoid life and its responsibilties?

Parents do not have to be fair. It's a parents "job" to teach their children EVERYTHING to survive, be reasonably successful, and IF POSSIBLE, to find happiness by their own effort.

Do you want to get out of this learning so that when you're an adult you can be incapable of housekeeping and therefore known to all your friends as a dirty slob?

Do you think anyone in the world WANTS to scrub toilets? Should the toilets scrub themselves? Or do you want to discard the toilet when it gets dirty? Maybe you want to pay your mother to scrub the toilet?
I don't think I understand what you want.

I am in my early 50's and do all kinds of stuff around the house. Laundry, dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning a 1930's gas stove, cleaning the refrigerator, cleaning sinks & tubs.
And I still do the toilets.

It's a job very few people like to do (I have a ton of respect for janitors of public restrooms) but it's a job that needs to be done.

If you can't get thru life without whining, pretty soon you will find your only friends are whiners, too.

On the other hand, if you can get thru life without whining too much, you will develop a stronger character and you will be able to handle all kinds of adversity.

Just learn to do unpleasant tasks - life is full of them.

OK you don't need to scrub toilets. From now on you go ahead and go out in the back yard like your neighborhood pooch and you will have no need to scrub toilets. But if you are going to use the toilet, YES you need to learn how to clean it.

I am guessing you when you get old enough to move out on your own, your house will be so disgusting no one will visit. They will be afraid they may have to go to the restroom at your house in a disgusting rest room.

Who is going to scrub your toilets when you grow up? (It sounds like that is a LONG way off anyway) Or will you live in a home that has NO toilets? Don't say, I will hire someone, the chances of a lazy person like you getting into the position of hiring out toilet cleaners is unlikely

I am 47 yrs old, which may be disappointing to you because I am probably older than your Mom, but I remember that out of all the jobs that my Mom gave me (which were vacuuming, dusting, dishwashing and cleaning my room), this took the least effort and the littlest time. Stop complaining...don't tell your friends about this one. Toilet brushing is about a 3 minute job....why give your Mom grief about that? No one wants a stinky toilet and if you keep up on it, it will never really get as bad as it could get!! I am married to an alcoholic with his twin (also an alcoholic) living with us. They miss in their peeing ALWAYS. And you thought you had it bad!!

sorry but everyone needs to know how to scrub a toilet. You will not always be home with Mom and your spouse may not be willing to do it all the time.there are lots of products out there that keep it clean once it's been scrubbed. Just using a brush once a week will keep it clean. after use just grab the brush and swish wallah its clean!!!!!

1] yes, it's fair - how long haveyou been peeing in her toilets, anyway?
2] no one
3] NO! If you b***h about cleaning in my house you get to do even more chores!
Come on over and I'll teach you how to clean gutters. Then, we can scrub all the garbage pails! Then, we can dump and scrub the catboxes! Then, we fix the fence! Then, we can change the oil in the car. Then, we mow the lawn!.....

You have to start somewhere, As a mother I couldn't give you a good excuse, because you also use that toilet, and someday you might be living on your own, and you will know how to do the things your Mothers is now teaching you.

Oh you poor little thing! What a horrible mother you must have!

Wake up!! No one wants to scrub a toilet! That is just one of those things that you need to do. Your mom is trying to teach you one of those skills that you will someday have to do yourself. Someday you will be glad that she took the time to teach you those skills. You have a great mother! Just hold your breath and try to remember what she is teaching you.
