I'm 17 and I love to draw, so I'm trying to use that ability as a way to make a little extra change. Does anyone have any other suggetions just in case my drawings don't do the trick.

Extra money is always a challenge. Try to visit tattoo parlors with a portfolio (a book of your drawings.) You could learn about henna tattoos, which last about 2 weeks, so they would be more acceptable to the parents of students your age. You could practice on friends, then start selling them. Then, you could apply at fast food restaurants for after school and weekends. Good luck with it.

When I was 18 I went to a Tattoo shop in Rochester NY. I showed the artist my artwork and he said if I could make the work into flash then he would do a trade. I didn't know much about it at the time, but a friend photocopied the artwork, big and small on 12 sheets, he accepted the flash for payment! Most of the time they like to see color on them as well, look online for examples, approach a tattoo artist and see what happens, make a portfolio and have cards made to look professional.
