They will eat the eggs if given a chance.

How large is your tank? A tank divider might be another option to separate the parents from the eggs. A simple way to move the eggs is to give the parents a spawning mop to lay the eggs on, then just move the mop to where they can hatch. Here's a link to a website with directions: http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/breeding/Leong_Spawning_Mop.html Ideally, a separate tank would be best for raising them (or an outdoor pond).

The babies will probably have a mix of the characteristics of the ranchu and lionhead - mostly the difference will be the degree to which the tail curls under the body, maybe some color variations depending on the color and genetics of the parents.

Here's a link to breeding goldfish - the spawning mop takes the place of the live plants mentioned in this link: http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/breeding.html

I have a few goldfish in a pond, so I am far from being an expert, but goldfish don't get "pregnant". They lay eggs. If she is able to lay them and they don't get fertilized they will just get fungused and there will be no babies. Either way, fertilized or not, if you have several fish, they will most likely get eaten unless you take precautions. Of course, you know that goldfish can get very large and a couple hundred babies would need hundreds and hundreds of gallons of water. You may want to think about it before having babies.

Buy her a little net thing. It's rectangular shaped you put it at the top of your tank and it keeps her away from the other fish. It's called a breeding tank I think. After she has the baby fish just let her back into the tank with the other fish. Keep the baby fish in the breeding thing until they get big or else all the other fish will eat the babies. Now when a fish is chasing another fish and bumping into her that is how they're having sex.

its best if you have 3 seperate tanks: one for the males, one for the mum & the other for the fry[babies]. Leave the males in their normal tank and put the mum in a seperate tank. When the eggs hatch, remove the mum and put her in the other fish tank[ without the males]. && after about a week put the female back in it's tank.. When the baby fish get bigger, put it in the tank with the rest of the goldfish.

good luck =]

you need to go to your local petstore and buy a breeding net, it will fit into your regular aquarium, all you do is put your pregnant goldfish in the net then you wait until she has the eggs, after she has her eggs take her out and allow your eggs to hatch, leave the fry in the breeding net until they are large enough to be introduced to the regular fish population.
