Gone With the Wind. I read it every 4 years. It makes me feel like, no matter what, I can do anything.

'The Pact: A Love Story' by Jodi Picoult
'The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald
'Slaughterhouse-Five' by Kurt Vonnegut
'The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger
'Gone With the Wind' by Margaret Mitchell
'Their Eyes Were Watching God' by Zora Neale Hurston
That is just a list of great american novels.. to me.
Here are some great books that I love, maybe not necessarily novels.
'Always Six O'Clock' by Phoef Sutton
'Killing Me Softly' by Nicci French (a little explicit at times, but REALLY REALLY REALLY good.)
'At First Sight' by Nicholas Sparks (I suggest you read 'True Believer' by Nicholas Sparsk first considering At First Sight is a continuation.)
'the five people you meet in heaven' by Mitch Albom.
Have fun! All these books are worthy of your reading =)

"Prey", by Michael Crichton. He's the one who wrote the Jurassic Park novels. This one is a great techno-thriller and he explains the science so you can understand it well!
