I am a little over 20 weeks pregnant (with my fourth) and went to the doctor today only to hear what sounded like TWO different heartbeats!! ( mine was clearly distiguished from the two) they were both in the 160's! My doctor is trying to get my ultrasound moved from later to sooner (because of this) but what i need to know is, Does this happen very often, if you are NOT carring more than one baby? i have heard of echoes and such, but this was different than that, sounded clearly like TWO babies!! i feel like im only having one and havent gained much weight at all! i weigh only 107. but my husbands father was a twin!! what should i be thinking???!!! lol please help!!

At 20 weeks you could hear 2 heartbeats with my daughter's pregnancy, but it was only 1 baby! That happens sometimes, but if the doctor thinks it could be twins - prepare yourself! Most of the weight gain is in the last trimester, so it is possible that you are having twins, but the doctor needs to know for sure, so lots of luck! Take good care of yourself and you and the baby (ies?) will be fine! CONGRATS!

I had twins, and at 20 weeks, I was already huge, for being 5 months along.I measured 28 weeks! I definitely felt movement, like fluttering on the right and left sides of my uterus. My twins were fraternal though.....Everyone is different,,it is hard to say! Sorry dear, an ultrasound is your only definite answer!!!Good luck to you sweetie! Twins are way fun!!

in case you're sixteen weeks, it may be no longer likely that they does not have got here across twins previous to now. Did you have an early ultrasound? each and every from time to time you definately can hear an echo with dopplers. And this is purely going to offer you one heart fee on the reading, and toddlers' pulses selection, it could have actual long previous from 160s to 150s. communicate on your scientific expert, yet do no longer anticipate it being twins.

twins skip a generation. every other generation in my family is a twin. my mother was. so chances are i could have them. and no it doesn't echo that much for it to actually sound like TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT heart beats.... good luck girl!
