I;ve actually never heard that before but I disagree. I think that sensitive people are usually more aware of others and their needs and always try to help. Not only are they sensitive to certain issues but to the people around them as well. They tend to see more in people than just what's on the outside.

Sensitive people certainly are not selfish, that is quite contradictory. If you are sensitive, it means that something, be it a person or situation is important enough for you to cry or get upset over, it plain doesn't make sense for people to say they are selfish. If there was more sensitive people in the world, the world would be a better place for sure!

This all depends on what you call sensitive. It isn't sensitive if someone pretends to have their feelings hurt in order to manipulate others. This is usually what's referred to as selfish. I knew a man who had to divorce his wife because she'd go so far as to harm herself badly enough to be hospitalized if she wasn't getting her way. I also knew spouses that had to divorce pathetic, invalid mates because those mates were masterful at exploiting the situation. It's a very nasty situation when that person is telling others how unsympathetic you are, and then you divorce them.

I don't think that and have not heard that either.

But to answer the question goes like this,....Sensitive people are sensitive and selfish people "just suck" the energy right out of you.

The idea is that sensitive people are very in touch with their feelings; very introspective. This automatically implies that they are self focused- selfish. It can make them all at once very sensitive and and insensitive to others.

Sometimes.

If "sensitive" means in tune with the feelings of others around them, then certainly not selfish.

However, if it always means, "This is how *I* feel when something happens", to the exclusion of all others, then selfish is indeed the word of the day.

yeah because they are so worried about their own feelings and so full of themselves, they dont make another person happier by just talking to them. oh by the way its just figurative language, thats like a gun man that says i didnt kill the guy, the gun killed the guy so i should be off the hook.

Because they find the emotions draining, as they aren't in touch with their own. This is the reason they call you selfish. Pretty pathetic huh?
