Actually I think Tommy Thompson's last best hope is that people will confuse him with Fred Thompson. Which this questioner maybe did, can't tell for sure.

If you're having trouble telling them apart, Tommy is the short guy with freakishly large ears.

Fred Thompson seems to be their big hero actor from Law and Order. I would question his motives for not entering the race early on as the others have. What is this man doing still rehearsing his lines? The republicans don't have a prayer to win this presidency if thats all they got.

Newt Gingrich might join the race, which would make the Republican nomination very interesting. He is currently in fifth in the polls.
