Any type of vinegar may be distilled to produce a colorless solution of about 5% to 8% acetic acid in water, with a pH of about 2.4. This is variously known as distilled spirit or "virgin" vinegar, or white vinegar, and is used for medicinal, laboratory, and cleaning purposes, as well as in cooking, baking, meat preservation, and pickling. The most common starting material in some regions, because of its low cost, is malt vinegar. In the United States, corn (maize) is the usual starting ingredient for most distilled vinegars, such as Heinz.

No, it's not. It's made from different things using different processes. However, acetic acid is acetic acid, regardless of the process used to extract it. The difference might be in the color and the pH. So if malt vinegar is all you have, use that. Over here in the US, we have white vinegar and cider vinegar all over the place.

Most commercial white vinegars are 5% acetic acid solutions
therefore the concn of ethanoic acid=0.833mol/dm3
using the Ka value of acetic acid=1.35*10^-5
the pH of ethanoic acid=2.47
u could use
orange or apple juice=pH3.5
Beer=pH4.5
