We have never had a Black in the White house, Blacks are mistreated by trigger happy law enforcement, and the list goes on.

I am sick and tired of Blacks not being treated fairly in the United States based merely on their race. We can't argue which is the right or wrong race, as we need to help all three of the races succeed! In the presidential race we only have one person running that is of another race. Barak Obama is articulate and clean cut as opposed to Jesse Jackson (whose racism precludes his candidacy). But I don't feel that there are enough Blacks in this country to get their man in office. Will we have a Black in the White house, probably not but he (Barak Obama) would sure be better than President Clinton's wife!

uh.....honestly, I think things are getting better. I wish that America was run by a diverse group of people, but sadly it's not.

If history truly is a good teacher, then yes, the blacks will prevail.
Compare the overall treatment of blacks over the last century - or even the last fifty years. Many strides have been made, laws passed and, for the most part, I believe people are learning to judge other people by their character and integrity rather than their color.
I'm sure there are still bigots and racist people around, but they are fast becoming the insignificant, ignorant minority - and that's a very good thing.
I agree that Obama is a far better choice than Hillery - but certainly not because he is black - it's because he is more in tune with the voters and the real issues presently facing this nation and he doesn't seem to preach to the choir several different versions of his policies depending on his audience.

African Americans have much better treatment than 30 years ago. They are not mistreated by the police - they are convicted of more crimes than whites are. Hispanics are
closing the gap fast in crime though & when the 11 million become citizens they will have the largest numbers of minorities. A first in America.
I will never choose my canidate by race & that includes Obama. Racism is racism - we chose by experience &
platforms. Obama has neither to suit me. Comparing Obama to Jesse Jackson is a huge insult to Obama. For the record, Obama's mother is white so he is only 1/2 African American.

Who is the 3rd race?

Sometimes we bring unfair treatment upon our self with an "in your face" attitude like saying the reason for the great majority of prisoners being black is because of "institutionalized racism." When, in fact, I think the truthful reason is "institutionalized disregard for the law." Another example is the O.J. Simpson trial. Blacks cheered that decision like Arabs cheered 9/11. By now you have wrongfully concluded that I am a racist because I have spoke the truth, but give me a black conservative presidential candidate like former U.S. Congressman J.C. Watts of Oklahoma and he will get my vote. I just don't happen to vote for liberals regardless of their color. --- and I do not treat blacks any differently than I treat anyone else. (nor do most).

Blacks who take advantage of what this country offers to EVERYONE can be as successful as the next person. When people who come to this country, poor, and without even knowing a word of english can become successful, you have to ask why those born here can't do it.
Blacks will fail in this country as long as the encourage each other not to cooperate with police.
They will fail while their popular music is laced with foul, derogatory epithets towards women.
They will fail if they continue to have children out of wedlock.
Blacks will fail if they continue to think others are to blame for their situation.

I think that in another few hundred years--if America still exists--we may see some equity on the race issue.

On the other hand, I think that you are wrong about "not enough Blacks" to get Obama elected. I DO think that there are many people of all races, colors, and creeds who can see what a fine man he is.

BTW--Though Hillary Clinton is not my choice for president, she is much more than "President Clinton's wife".

The blacks in America don't want to succeed they only want to be given handouts and be held down by so called leaders of the race like al and jessie
When they become Americans and not hyphenated Americans they will succeed and only then
There is no hyphen before American
You want to be a outsider keep your hyphen

Shyeah right. Don't worry BRO, racism is alive and well in the United States! Only in America can you make movies about black people making fun of each other for dating white people! Only in America can you have comics making fun of white people for "always be doing this" and "always be doing that". And only in America is it okay for black people to call each other Nigguhs but when a white person says it they're racist. In fact, just for typing the word I'll probably get a violation notice. More proof that if anything, there is REVERSE racism in this country. Which leads me to my quote of the day.........

"Why is it only okay in this country to hate white people?"

I honestly think that they are treated they way they want to be.Don't jump and get pist on me.I am marry to a black person and my child is considered black and I have been accused of racism many times by people that don't know this.My first job in US was waitress - countless times I will hear - "you served him first because he is white" and that wasn;t the case at all.On the other hand my husband came from Latin America and he was shocked at how racist some people can be but that din't stop him in getting his education and being able to support his family. But guess what - he lost a lot of black friends because he "didn't act black enough..."
I am not saying that black people are asking for it but they have a way of putting their own down and blaming racism for the own failures. There will be racism like it or not.People have been racist to me because I am from EU it's up to you if you are going to let it get you down

I don't think racism will ever completely go away. we have racist in every race. I have seen cases where people are accused of being racist when they weren't. I wish we could all live in peace without having to worry about being discriminated against for any reason, but I don't think it will happen in my lifetime if ever. I don't think blacks are discriminated against any more than other races though.

i guess that i am the eternal optomist and want to say that yes one day people will understand that we are all people. that we all were created by the same god and that he loves us all equally. sometimes i feel as though that may never happen. i just hope that it will. but on that same note how about women. do you think that there will be a day that women are treated as something other than baby machines, and maids. that they don't have to have a man by there side to succeed. again i will always say that one day i hope that will happen. hope that this helps
