Open the Mail app and click on the Mail Tab (beside the Blue Apple logo) then click on Preferences.
Under the Accounts Tab, highlight the Mac Mail Account and click on the Minus sign below the Accounts column to delete it. Then, Click on the Plus to add your Yahoo Account and follow the prompts.
BTW, the OS X equivalent of the Control Panel is System Preferences.

On the older imac's, click on the apple icon in the upper left corner. I haven't been on a mac in a while. Maybe it's changed?
