Okay.. do you know what scientific notation is? the way you write scientific notations are a decimal times 10^n, n being the number of times you go right of the decimal and left of the decimal. But.. for the decimal before multiply the 10^n, you need a ones digit.. meaning the decimal has to be.. a number decimal and more numbers.. like 5.67 it can never be 56.7 or .567 and so on. it needs to have ONE digit in front of the decimal point besides zero. so.. if you look at the example you gave to us. the "decimal" before the 10^n thing.. will be 6.56 becuase you need ONE digit remember? So.. you will get 6.56 then from there you need to go from the decimal point and count how many zero spaces there are... meaning.. if you count each decimal point spaces in bettwen the zeros including the point between 6 and 5. you will get 5 spaces right? that will be the "n". But.. if you went to the right side (counted to the right)... it will be a poisitive exponenet.. but you counted to the left right? so it wil be negative.. giving you -5 okay? So.. you're final answer will be 6.56 x 10^ -5. If you have any questions... feel free to email me at mashi_cutie@hotmail.com

6.56 * 10^(-5)
You want the number to be between 1 and 10. To find the number to raise ten to, count the number of digits between the space between the first and second digit and the decimal point. In this case, there are 5 (4 zeroes and a six).
Good luck to you

5 x 10^-6 The huge form prolonged via the ten must be in between a million and 10. subsequently, that's 5. To get to the 5, you could pass the decimal factor 6 places to the main suitable, so the exponent of 10 is -6. And there you have it. (in case you progression the decimal factor purely 5 situations, you would be left with 0.5 x 10^-5, which isn't maximum suitable medical notation form.)
