i dont understand you 'born-in-the-usa'.
Your idea of a separation of church and state seems awfuly like a personal conviction. I dont think we should use it to shape public policy. ; )

Because according to the liberal ideology, what you believe is not allowed in the public square. Which makes you wonder how decisions are made then....

Well if you think about that statement for a moment you can see that acting on your faith is wrong. Look at how the Islamic extremists act out on their faith for the best example. This is a perfect example of the separation of church and state and why we need it. I commend John Edwards for his honesty and his ethics.

Edit: Thats why it's wrong to act on faith beliefs so that it doesn't shape public policy!

In a free country where your choice of religion, sexual orientation etc is guaranteed no one - even the president has the right to force his personal beliefs on the entire country or it is no longer a free country.

Because those beliefs can lead to somebody strapping on a bomb belt and blowing up innocent people in the name of some sky god.
