how open the hood of porsche boxter 1999 with no battery?

i know ther is an emergency wire release but where is it .how can i reach it ?...tks a lot.

There is an emergency cable pull that is located behind the passenger side headlight on the 996 Carrera. You should be able to pull back the wheel liner from inside the wheel well, and simply reach in for the pull cable.

Thrust the Germans to make a car you can't open the hood on when the battery goes dead. Now that's great engineering.
