Brian Urlacher. He hasn't done nothing.

I keep hearing that Brian Urlacher is overrated, and I keep watching Brian Urlacher turn games around for Chicago. Look at the NFC title game: New Orleans had just scored, was driving again, and Brees was picking the Bears apart. Urlacher reaches up and knocks down a pass, breaks the Saints' rhythm, and Chicago dominates the rest of the way. A couple of people have already pointed out how he absolutely owned the Arizona Cardinals.

The most overrated linebacker in the NFL is whoever plays next to Ray Lewis. Baltimore keeps losing big-time free agent LBs (Ed Hartwell), but those guys stink once they're gone, and whoever takes their place on the Ravens field dominates. Take note, New England and anybody who ever wants to make a run at Bart Scott or Terrell Suggs.

Urlacher is somewhat overrated, but not the most.

It's between Tedy Bruschi and.....ouch....Derrick Brooks. Tedy gets the ESPN and media in general hype for coming back from a stroke. Great for him and his family, but that doesn't make you a better NFL linebacker. He's only half the play making LB he used to be. On that note, as a Bucs fan, Brooks looked out of gas. He's not as fast as he used to be and he cannot tackle like the DB of old, two things that made him an All Pro LB. It's not like he was big and nasty in his prime. Speed and tackling is his game. Yet he still got to the Pro Bowl this past season.

Hopefully by now, people know LaVar stinks.

i agree with Goldglovebaseball watch the mnf against arizona and everyone saying brian will feel dumb and how in the world can ray lewis be overrated he is the definition of inside linebacker in this era of football......but anyways i would say joey porter......i am a huge steelers fan but he was just a peice of the defense......the most tackles he has had was 89 next highest is 66 and it drops from there....he was good at rushing the passer but all pittsburgh linebackers can so the new guys to fill his spot will be just as good theres a reason why he was released and pittsburgh is more worried about signing a safety than him

Lance Briggs, Urlachers teamate. Teams double cover Urlacher and he still shedds through but its to late Briggs already made the tackle. Urlacher is 60% why the Bears beat Arizona ( 18 tackles, one forced fumble which "peanut" scored for a td, and he made the tackle that forced them to punt it where Hester would return it for a td). Briggs is nothing without Urlacher and we will see how he does when he goes someplace else.

Brian Urlacher overarted???? haha...jokes over right? i have never seen a player take over a football game completely like he did againt Arizona on MNF back in week 6. The guy refuses to lose. he pumels ball carriers and makes his presence felt all over the field. He is the anchor of the Best D in the league.

Shawne Merriman. You notice that every week after his roids wore of that he played horribly. Urlacher at least can be a dominant defender without perfomance enhancers.

I clicked on the question so I could scream MERRIMAN!!!!! but was suprised to see all the urlacher haters. hes amazing. that D wouldnt be sh!t w/o him. his #s may not be eye popping but his hits are. when I think of defensive leader in the NFL I think Urlacher. Im not even a Bears fan.....my team is the PATS, but I know a good football player when I see one. Id kill to have him in the middle of our D, so would Belichick, hes said so.

So all you brain morons who think Urlacher is overrated, go ask Merriman for another hit of roids maybe thatll clear it up for you.
