I don't want people to think I am racist, because I don't feel that I am. I don't agree with illegal immigration. There is a reason why our country has these laws and they should be obeyed. It would be nice if everyone could have the life they want and I understand people from other countries wanting to give their families the same benefits we have here, but the land here can't support everyone in the world. I hope our government can find some way of getting this under control.

Ok * takes a deep breath*
I dont think its fair. I live in Texas where there are alot a illegal immigrants (mostly from Mexico). Many who have no intention of assimilating into the American culture, not even trying to learn English. How can you be here for 10 years and not know how to speak English its like it deliberate. A couple of years ago they gave most if not all illegal ppl a chance to have amnesty y didnt they become citizens then? No other immigrant gets the treatment ppl from mexico do. If i went to live over there or any other country there is no way i would get that type of consideration. How come if someone comes over the border and they are 65 they automatically get social security they didnt put a dime in? and ppl wonder why social security is having problems. I think its about cheap labor also. These businesses are paying illegal immigrants 5/hr, what a citizen wouldnt do for 7.50 or 8 dollars, which lowers the pay rate for everybody. If you arent a citizen why should you be able to have a job when citizens cant find work. Plus they get it tax free, while everyone elses tax money is paying for their benefits and children's school, is that fair??? I have no problems with Mexicans or any other immigrant that want to come here for a better life, America is a melting pot. But u cant come here and not melt. If you are goin to be so considerate of Mexicans then do it for everybody. If not get to deporting cause its not fair.

A lot of people don't want to come off as 'racist' so they act all for illegal immigration. It's not a race thing, it's an *illegal* thing. At my school a kid got taken out of class during a discussion because he said people should pay the money and get into the country legally. The teachers said he was upsetting other students. I personally came into this country legally and I think there is no point having laws if people that break them are not punished and are seen as in the right.

we need to secure the border first.
then we need to revamp the legal immigration pathway to make it more streamlined (take 1 year instead of 7 - 20 years)
then we need to make sure that the illegals are at the back of the line and if they have any felony convictions, they are immediately deported and never allowed to set foot in our country again.
(this goes for all immigrants, not just those from mexico)

It's all about how many extra votes which party can get. ( The relatives of the aliens ).
These politicians don't really care about the country anymore....atleast that's what it seems with this particular issue!!

I suggest we should go ask the native Indians first in those lovely enclaves mercifully left to them!
They are the original Americans. The rest of us are recent arrivals by comparison.
