vicodin is a narcotic-and are very addictive, I think that the people that abusive them are in pain from stress hard jobs and muscle aches from stress, the feeling of no pain is a high for them, just a general relaxation, If the dose is too high then they can have the I can role in the snow in 30 below level and not feel a thing feeling, I got perscribed a too high pain pill once, these narcotics are addicting and destroy your liver and kidneys, they will make you look old get wrinkle and be incontinant before your 50 with persistant abuse. and Are right up their with cigaretts in addiction. stay away from them, also if you do develop a disease or type of severe arthritis or back problem you will build a tolerance and be unable to take enough pain meds to stop the pain. so take as little as you need after surgery to avoid severe pain throw the remaining pills away and take plain tylenol when needed as well as hot or cld compresses,

Your body's reaction to Vicodin may be subtle. For some people, Vicodin is relaxing, above and beyond any analgesic properties. Some people get a buzz, get a little fuzzy-headed. I've found it helpful for sciatic pain, helps me get to sleep if I'm having the back and leg pain, but it doesn't give me a buzz (darn it). Everyone's reaction is slightly different, and what you've eaten or had to drink may also affect your reaction. A side effect some people don't know about is possible constipation, so beware!

I just want to say to the answerer above that Vicodin is an acetaminophen - based drug and taking more than the recommended dosages can kill your liver. It's unlikely that she has some kind of tolerance to the drug.
Pain pills make the pain tolerable, they don't get rid of the pain altogether.

I only get dizzy and sick from it. Some things work better for some than others. Vicodin is dangerous to be on though because you can get addicted too easily and not even know it. It's for short term pain relief only.
Stay away from that crap. Flush it anyway- your sister has no legitimate use for it- if she did she could go to her own doctor and get a scrip. If she takes yours and gets into an accident or does something stupid YOU will get in trouble for it since it was your scrip and not hers- it's illegal and immoral and irresponsible to share prescription medicine.

Vicodin makes me ralph, But I do know that you don't really want to take rx pills to get high. You don't want to end up in a nasty session of detox. Not to mention what it does to your liver and kidneys. Seriously, If you want to get high there are more natural ways of doing it. Not with rx drugs. I am not trying to stand on a soap box. But don't start what you may not be able to quit.

Probably but it doesnt mean you should take more than perscribed because thats how ppl get addicted to it and be careful with it because Vicoden is like the number 1 pain killer to get addicted to. I was perscribed it after my car accident and it got me so drugged up and sleepy only on ONE. I felt so good and I still got a half a bottle full and my accident was like 2 years ago. I never take it though.

i think different people have different reactions to pain relief medication. the same thing happened with me and my tylenol 3's. i had a herniated disk in my back, so i would be on tylenol 3. i was up to talking 4 pills at a time (dangerous, i know) but it still did nothing but make me want to throw up. i eventually just threw out the pills and learned to deal with the pain.

It might have affected you without your even realizing it. I heard that my theatre professor had been on vicodin once, and was talking about it not having any effect... and he promptly walked right into a set piece and didn't even notice.

Vicodin is like that for me, too. I think it just doesn't do much for certain people, I'm not sure why.

when you are taking any medicine for pain, you shouldn't be feeling " weird" .
It's when you take it when you are not in pain that you will feel that goofy feelings.
If that's what you are going for try doubling the amount you are taking
