Just curious on why this certain day of the week

It was a deal made long ago between the studios and the delivery companies (UPS, Fed Ex, etc). Mondays have holiday interruptions so they were ruled out. Tuesday is electronic media day. Wednesday is new comic books and periodicals day (with Friday added to handle most magazines these days). I am not sure what they do on Thursday, probably live pets or something similar.

I would venture to guess that it has to do with the fact that most holidays tend to fall on Monday so it would ensure that delivery could be made on time. Conincidentally, other media sources tend to have there newstand dates on Thursday (most weekly trade papers). I would think Wednesday & Fridays are generally ruled out as there is "usually" some kind of media event taking place (premiere's, screenings etc) for new films.

so do video games.
why do t.v shows start in sept and go till december then take a month off with new episodes then in january play 2 or 3 new episodes then take another month off before finishing the season. it's the same with every tv series that starts in sept.
why do most movies in the theater get released on fridays but some get released on wednesdays.
