It is often difficult to differentiate between the people in true need and people that abuse the system. That's what makes this a challenging issue.

in response to this question... i have a 12 year old little boy that is mentally ill... he has had a team of Dr's sense he was 4 years old... he receives disability payments and medicaid through ssi... his medical bills run up to 3000.00 dollars a month and if medicaid was done away with then he would be unable to receive the care that he needs as no other insurance company would insure him... they would consider his condition pre-exsiting...my husband and i both work full time jobs so this is not a welfare handout. treating any mentally ill person is very expensive and can you imagine what the world would be like if these people couldn't get the care they needed to function in sociaty...

Medicaid should be done away with, as should all other unconstitutional, socialist programs. It won't go, though, because it's always appealing to the greedy people, to get something for nothing from others, without having to be nice to them (as would be the case if they wanted charity). No; it's just too easy to have the government take from some other people to give to us. Easy, yes; moral -- or course not. That's why we have the government do it. (No conscience.)

if your mother was mentally ill, or poor - would you want medicade to help her? what it if was you? what if it was your child?

what if you had a child who was born with physical and mental defects, and your job's health insurance ran out?? medical insurance frommost employers has a limit normally $1,000,000 per person per lifetime, but with some illnesses that can run out in just a year or 2, and switching jobs is not an option because it is a preexisting condition, so your new insurance will not cover that family member - but services like medicade will - they are there to help people who need it

I feel like the people who are low income that are out there busting their butt for the theirself and the their family deserve this help not the ones that are just sitting at home watching t.v. all day living completely on the government those are the people who do not deserve medicaid.

And if they DON'T receive Medicaid, how in the hell do you propose they get the medical treatment they need? You don't think we won't be paying for that huge bill? Because they can't afford it!

Medical assistance should always be available to anyone needing it. Regardless of their financial or mental condition.

And not only medical assistance, but any other kind of help which anyone could offer.

Imagine having a sick child and being powerless to do anything about it.

They should be helped with Medicaid if they need it. It's not fair to take it away when they are in need.
