When you are a celebrity and you've had a newsworthy scandal, be it a nasty divorce, or a very public arrest, you can expect to be the brunt of a lot of jokes when it comes to shows like the MTV movie awards. Comedians love to skewer famous people. Sarah Silverman isn't the first and won't be the last to do something like that.

I didn't actually see the live broadcast, but I watched the clip online. I love Sarah Silverman's stand up and celebrity roasts, but I think what she said about Paris (especially considering the fact that Paris was in the audience) was absolutely cruel and painful to watch. It's not that I like Paris Hilton or support her "career" of being rich and self-absorbed, but recently, she has taken a beating from the media. Her life-long arrogance has molded her into an ignorant person...and I'm sure her stupid parents did nothing to teach her about the real world. Now Paris is realizing that she is not above the law and that a lot of people hate her...that is enough punishment without Sarah Silverman having to make jokes about it.
