Well, I'm only a teen. I'm 15, but I think you should be AT LEAST 16 before you start dating. And if you can't take it seriously at 16, you should wait a little bit longer. I think it's important that when you start dating, you know what it means. People that date because they think it's cool and they just want a boyfriend/girlfriend, well, that's pointless, and they could be in for trouble. Before dating, you should be at least 16 and know what dating is all about. Know what you're doing, and be smart.

Depends on the maturity of the child but 16 at least for a one on one car date, a group date like going to the movies, skating and such maybe (again depending on the child) 14 or 15.

They call it sweet 16 for a reason baby girl lol. You need to be 16. Right now your still young and naive. When your 16 enough to know boys only want one thing and keep your legs closed youll be ready to date. Dont be in a rush though because its not all its cracked up to be.

Um I say in the teens. Its better to start knowing what you look for, and who to look out for early. I think if they start dating later in life they'll be rushed to get married and do all that stuff and not find the right person and they'll be unhappy. I liked people in middle school but had 1 boyfriend but that ended fast because I wouldnt let him get near me. I'm on my 2nd boyfriend and I started dating him when I was...15 and now I'm 19. I thought I knew everything and I used to think asking the questions like "whats your favorite music", and "whats your favorite color" were stupid and pointless but being in this relationship has taught me a lot and now I realize it is important to ask questions and get to know someone before you date them and definately be friends first... we werent really friends before we went out and I think thats what messed things up because he didnt know how I was with my friends and I didnt know how he was with his friends and now I really have no guy friends and him and my girl friends werent the best of friends and they honestly didnt really like him and because we didnt know what eachother was like with our friends, its hurt us.

just though that additional information would help.

I guess everyone has different opinions, so there can't be a set date, but for me, I personally want to keep myself pure until I'm ready to get married. After all, dating in my opinion is for marriage, not a game many people at my school see it as.
