they did all of the above ,the seeds they planted was the microbes on there moon boots which were detected by a luna Russian probe 2 years after Apollo 17 ,still alive but in a hibernation state

Um, A - with no Co2, water, air pressure, defense from solar radiation, and carbon-based nutrients in the soil - plants cannot grow - so why bother.
