to begin with the guy was morally bankrupt, didn't consider others' feelings, a 'nutcase' as some say -- when he snapped, a secondary factor was access to guns, an old & complicated debate; behind all this (& C.M's answer, excuse-me, very simplistic) -- and of course simple reporting, not a rationalization -- subtle 'racism' & substantial bullying -- being told "ah go back to China" etc. ...; Ill-treatment in various forms happens to all of us -- how we react is test of character -- the ideal is to react in Christian [non-denominational sense here] way & not be overly-sensitive -- the guy in question, a hothead & seemingly 'Samurai' temperament; concerning what can people do -- easy to talk after the fact; psychologists etc know about root causes, this knowledge can be brought into play; all in all, a terrible event in U.S. history.

It's evident Cho was driven by a "canned" boiling resentments that exploded flashpoint into a lethal anger; in short, Cho was purely "nuts".

The frustrating fact remains here is, like so many other banal violent senseless acts of murder, where the gunman kills himself--we're left only to speculate and wonder the cause of what happened and why did it happen in the first place.

And we can for months speculate what went on.........

There really has been no motive uncovered, other than the fact that Cho was a psychopathicly ill person.
