What makes you think the universe was "created"? Isn't it entirely possible that it has always existed and always will exist?

Science claims that matter - which is the same thing as energy - can neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore it is reasonably arguable that the universe never was created, it just simply exists and always has existed.

The "fishbowl" perspective is that the fish only sees the edge of the water. It doesn't know what lies beyond the horizon. The land mammal only knows the horizon of the sky, not what lies beyond it. As we discovered, there is something beyond the sky. We will someday find out what exist beyond that horizon.

Assuming that anything was created is problematic. We can assume that water was created, or a process of a variety of chemicals and pressure changed gases to liquid.

The term 'created' leads to all sorts of cognitive issues.

You would have to ask the one who created the universe in the first place. Our human minds are too primitive to even begin to understand the nature of things because we are thinking in a finite way trying to solve problems with theories that are supposed to be correct until new theories are invented to satisfy us for a while.
