Interesting question. I was going to give a sarcastic, simplistic answer such as "as many as possible" or "all of them". But then I stopped and thought about it.
In my case, I estimate the answer is about 50. My first "real" kiss occurred around 1965. I still remember the girl and the circumstances. My last super-all-night-cant-stop makeout session occurred in 1983. I remember that girl because I married her in 1987. 20 year anniversary coming up this fall!
My cerebral, philosophical answer to your question is another question: "how do you know when to stop? how do you know the best kisser isn't around the corner?" My gut answer is "when your lips are sore and your heart can't pound any longer, you've found the one."

There have been a fair few I kissed knowing it wouldn't last. You can tell allot about a person by their kiss.
