You should have been here in the early 90's - talk about nothing to do. Now with LoDo it is a virtual Las Vegas compared to what it used to be. It is all about perspective.
I'd lower your estimate about the church going conservatives and culture - not quite that bad - but there is certainly a midwestern values component. Are you living in the city or in the 'burbs? Don't see that dynamic nearly as much in the city.
If I were you, I'd spend more time hanging out in Capital Hill. Zip 80218 is the most populous zip in the state, in large part because of singles living in apartments. Grab a Westword, find a band playing in a club on Colfax or Broadway, and try to enjoy.
More beer is brewed in Colorado than any other state - why? To help us forget that there is no other real night life and to prevent us from realizing that the nearest city of any size is a 7 hour drive away. So go to the Tattered Cover, buy a NY Times, head to a brewpub and drink/read until the bar closes at 11pm.

I love Denver (execpt the broncos - go raiders!)
Lorimar Sq is beautiful. I love LoDo (Lower Downtown) becuase of the restaurants and Coors Field. Denver also has the exciting Nuggets & Avs. Denver has some beautiful Gardens and the state capital building. Its healthy living in colorado. I have only been once to Denver, but those 4 days were amoung the best of my life. Denver's people are really nice, execpt the ones who teased me for my raiders hat & jersey.
When I was there I saw a doubleheader at coors field, sampled lodo's great restaurants, saw the U.S. Mint (only in philly or houston could you see that), the state capital tour, gardens/ public park, the shopping districts, a few museums on colorado/native people/ and a science museum -, and a music show at the nuggets arena (it was aug so no nba 4 me).
Denver has an opera. D.C. has culture and Denver does to. I'd love to move from the Bay Area to Denver.
Also, the mountains are your friend. Camping is good for you. I am outdoorsy, but you can still enjoy Denver since its the only really big city for hours (salt lake, chyenne, and kc are all atleast almost a day's drive).

Denver may be the enjoy where in actuality the shine may sun 300 times of year. Denver is a flourishing ethnic world, varied neighborhoods, and natural elegance mix for the world's most spectacular playground and with hotelbye you can see getting there. Denver is the area for: World-class attractions, natural wonders, flourishing arts scene, lots of progressive and acclaimed restaurants and nightlife possibilities galore. Denver definitly first got it all. In Denver you can look at the Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Highway. The Mount Evans Highway is really a periodic road which will be shut throughout winter months weeks

I know the feeling..I moved from Orlando two years ago and it took me about a year to start appreciating the things that Denver has to offer...It was really hard at first, it seemed to me that in every corner was a Mexican restaurant, shop, or something...and nothing else...I have slowly met new people and I enjoy the no humidity weather. I will always miss things from Orlando but a city never replace another..They are all different...People from the west are very different than people from the east, but there are people from a lot of different places here...If you like, different cultures, you will enjoy that. I do..You just have to adapt and look for things of your interest.

Depends on what you concider fun. I like to take a date to Larimer Square for live (free) music and then to LoDo for some mingling. But the one other person is right - if you are not outdoorsy you won't fit very well. Why not take a class in whitewater kayaking. Big adreneline and it will give you something interesting to talk about to people you meet. You must be boring them silly with "D.C. is sooo much better".

I'm outdoorsy so I can't answer your other question as I would never have fun here if Denver wasn't close to the mountains and I weren't able to ski and climb all the time. Plus, most women I know I met through outdoorsy sports, so I don't have any advice in that department either.

The last sentence is the key to your problem. If you dont like the outdoors then stop complaining and move to LA. Did you move to Denver without having any clue about what it was about or how it doesnt fit your "interests"? If so then its your own fault. Have a nice day!

and what to do, there HAS to be some good looking people. just find a bunch of friends and hang out. they're always way to have fun.
and if that doesn't work, get the hell out of there.

Well I guess you should have done your homework before moving here.......can't say I would pick to live here if I weren't an outdoorsy person.
You can always try coming up to Boulder. We're more liberal but probably not as sophisticated as you seem to require.
