Basically you will get a mess to be honest. You will get a very, very few fish that have a good half moon or a good crown, most will be a muddy mixture of the two and poor quality at that. That is to say expect short fins with irregular extensions and incomplete half moon state.
Both of these are recessive traits and rely on several genes each, some of which over lap, so the fry would be full of genetic conflict that would take several generations to sort back out.

The best sources I can suggest to you are the papers published by the late Dr. Gene Lucas of Drake University during his time there studying betta genetics. If you try from a public library or university library you may find they have access to Jstor and a few other scientific paper repositories that would include Dr. Lucas' works. Some of his material is available on the internet through hobby related sites and as somewhat simplified works he published for the hobby.

A good book to start with is "Genetics for Aquarists" by Dr. J. Schoder. it's out of print, but still very applicable and should be fairly easy to find.

Hope that helps and feel free to email me if I can help further.

the numerous mouthbrooders are: Betta- pugnax, chini, prima, balunga, picta, anabantoides, macrostoma, fusca, akarensis, fusca, enisae and edithae. Betta splendens is the only bubble nest builder that i understand of and the only one I even have spawned. The mouthbrooders are stressful to locate in the pastime and could in all risk might desire to be ordered from an importer online. Betta is reported wager-tah, no longer bay-tah.

odds and ends that might be cute to their mother. most likely a lot of deltas and combs and delta/combs. they wouldn't be anything show quality.

genetics is weird -- you have to remember the half moons and crowntails are developed from years of breeding. if you mix them up they will go back up the breeding charts a few generations.
