I assume by Catholics you mean certain people in leadership positions. Some, but not all, bishops and leaders of pro-life lay organizations have insisted that one cannot be both pro-choice and a practicing Catholic (going so far as to suggest that being pro-choice equals automatic excommunication).
Beyond strongly hinting that Catholics should not support a pro-choice candidate, no church organization formally endorses a candidate since that would violate the provisions of federal tax laws which prohibit tax exempt organizations from endorsing any candidate (and all churches depend on their tax exempt status).
If you mean the majority of Catholic voters, I am not sure that a majority of them are angry at Giuliani (since many give only loose lip service to the church's position on abortion and vote on other issues instead). My hunch is that some Catholics will vote for Giuliani, some will vote for Romney, some will vote for Thompson, some will vote for McCain, a large segment will vote for one of the Democratic candidates, and most will not vote until the general election, at which point they will split around 60-40 for the Republican nominee whomever that might be.

Giulliani, like any Catholics, stays Catholic till he has excommunicated himself. I don't have any suggestion whether or not or now not he has obtained any documentation pointing out that he has excommunicated himself, and as it's his individual industry, I do not chiefly suppose I must recognize whether or not it is a performed deal or now not. I've learn that he identifies himself as Catholic so I doubt he has excommunicated himself. He's most likely only a man who takes his religion plenty much less severely than such a lot individuals of the equal faith, however on account that he's a public determine, it is extra generally identified. Catholics are quite meant to "hold our eyes on our possess paintings" and now not be google-eyed at any one else, so once more, it is quite none of my industry. I do not suppose he has so much danger at fitting president on account that he is not very good certified. Alas, regardless that, the equal will also be stated for frequently the entire applicants, and that is under no circumstances stopped the U.S. public from electing someone ago.

Giuliani is in favor of abortion. That makes him an unacceptable candidate for the Presidency, from a Catholic perspective.

Abortion is against the doctrine of the Catholic Church. Guiliani supports abortion. The Catholic Church would think Guiliani is not a good Catholic.
