I have actually noticed that too just from watching the Weather Channel. It doesn't rain much here in CA, especially from May to October but I see that it seems to rain a lot on the east coast during weekends.

I;m not 100% sure why but one time I saw something on TV about that a while ago. I can't completely remember what they said, but I recall it had something to do with all the smog and pollution that accumulated during the work week, somehow it contributes and causes more rainfall on weekends. I could be wrong but that's what I remember seeing on TV one time as an explantation for why it rains more on weekends.

there have been scientific studies done on this. basically air pollution can cause rain because it does something called "cloud seeding." during the week air pollution builds and builds, especially on the coasts, and then it gets heavy enough that it causes rain. then on the weekend when fewer people are commuting, the pollution clears somewhat and the cycle starts over again.

It doesn't. Not in Sydney anyway. I did a study of rainfall over a thirty year period and the wettest day was Wednesday but this was not statistically significnt. Weekends are not favoured, it is just that you notice rain more then.

Being out of work you just notice it more.

When your in work you are busy and don't notice the rain outside.

It doesn't. You're just in school or at work during the weekdays, so you don't notice it as much.
