My best friend is pregnant with her first baby (a boy) she is almost 39 week's and has been 1CM dialated for almost 2 week's now.
The doctor told her he HAS dropped.
She had a burst of cleaning energy this past sat,2day she has been having really bad cramp's in her lower pelvis and lower back...is this a sign of early labor???
She is 10 day's away from her due date....we hope he is on his way :)
Thanks for any information :)

She said her belly is "harder".

She could be in labor - or about to be... As for the hardness, it could be the babies position. There shouldnt be a consistent hardness...and if there is and there is no pain, its just braxton hicks. She will definetly feel pain when its time to go to the hospital.
I am due June 15th and was at the hospital all morning with contractions that were extremely painful one minute apart, for 8 hours, and not one thing changed in my cervix...so it all depends on the person and the baby.
I would suggest shes in pre labor...Congrats!

Definately not far fetched to say she could be in labor. Nesting ( cleaning/rearranging) is def. a sign. Cramps and a heavy feeling are a sign too. tell her to lay down on her left side and sip some juice. If she continues to feel crampy, start to time her cramps. If they get too intense or come at regular 5-7 min intervals, then call or get to her OB right away. Above all else- relax and try to enjoy this time w/o baby. Once the baby arrives, relaxing wont be an option! lol

Sounds like it should be soon. I have had 3 kids and always had a cleaning spree about 2 weeks before. The lower back pain could be early labor. Tell her good luck and congrats.

back pain can be a sign of labor...this is the only kind of labor my cousin had...another sign would be losing her mucus plug...it may appear as a pinkish or redish discharge.

its probalby pre-labor, which can be hours or days from true labor. It will happen soo enough, likely before her due date. Get her out walking every day, that will speed things up
