As I read everyone else's answers I notice they all state that you should quite. I am in the same situation. Calls me on days off, calls me after hours, is a jerk to me in the office. Nothing would get done if I wasn't there. I have put in more then two years into the company and I know I too can find another job. It's just not that easy...because I feel comfortable knowing what my daily duties are going to be like. I know you deserve respect as so do I...I guess what I am saying is you (and I) need to get out of our "comfort zone" and make a good change in your live.

If you're unhappy, then you should find another job. I would make sure you had something set up before you quit (or gave your 2 weeks notice) though; I know that can make things a bit difficult, but you don't want to be left without a job due to overconfidence. Also, it's WORK, and as much as it sucks, their "thank you" is your pay, and it's normal that they get angry when they need you and you can't/won't come in on your day off. After all, they're obviously already under stress and under-staffed.

But, in the end, only you can decide if you want to quit, but it doesn't sound like you're happy, so if you can manage, I would.

Respect is something i have never seen in any job yet.The companys all across the country think this is something that they dont have to show the work force. You have the pride that you do your job well. That should be the thing that keeps you going on every day.Stop and think how many people out there dont have a job right now,When its time to leave a job you will know it in your heart.Hope all good things come your way.

If you don't feel appreciated then you should look for another job. As a manager of a restaurant I make it a point at the end of every shift I lead to compliment my crew on all the good work they have done that day, but I also point out areas of opportunity/ improvement.

What has this earned me, a crew that would walk Thur fire if I asked it, no questions asked.

Remember not all money is good money, you have to enjoy where you work and what you do

Hope this helps

Look for another job!! That doesn't mean quit. Just go on interviews and see what is better in the end. If you find a better paying job and the work environment is nicer then take it!! Don't stick in one place. You gotta see what's out there!

I say start putting your feelers out for a better job. You don't have to up and quit. I gave my boss a 1 week notice once but offered to stay until he found a replacement. Hey, it was another check! Food places know they have high turnover, and somebody will snatch you up in a heartbeat.

Do they offer you an alternate day off, if you go in on your day off and work? I would stick with saying No, if they aren't treating you with respect.

You aren't there to get respect or to get your a** kissed, Your there to do your job and then they pay you for it. I used to think like you but I realized your only there to do your job and thats all.
