I am using enfamil A.R. lipil for my twins, both have acid reflux. The formula has done wonders for them, it has cereal in the formula that is heavier in their stomach to reduce the amount they spit up. But I'm having a hard time finding a nipple that will allow for this thicker formula. I tried poking the holes and it was too much. But the formula keeps clogging the regular hole and I have to keep cleaning it out every 30 seconds. It is VERY frustrating. Any suggestions? I have tried VentAir, Playtex amd Avent stages 1 and 2 for all 3.

Dr.Browns makes a Y-cut/Cereal nipple that works well. They also sell a specific one for thick formulas. A lot of stores don't carry them , but I found mine on amazon.com.

My little girl had the same problem and I also used the same bottles the best thing I can say is you might want to look into Good Start formula and if you can get new nipples for the bottles and take a knife and just run it down the bottle's nipple just a little and that will help the cereal go through better.

Oh and if the doctor has yet to tell you this they will grow out of it before they reach 1years old. Well, good luck and I hope this helps you.

My son has reflux too and I used Enfamil AR in a "Soothie" bottle put out by "The first years". You can find them at Walmart and Target. I never had any problem with them clogging, even using the stage one nipple.

Also, if you're using the powder formula you might want to be sure that when you're mixing the formula you are shaking the bottle enough because the powder is more clumpy than standard formula. If you have a blender, you could mix it using that too, to be sure that you've gotten a good mix.

I use the same formula for my son. I'm not sure how old your twins are. I tried the powder formula and had the same problem, maybe cuz I wasn't making it right, although I followed the directions. I use the ready to use quarts now and they work fine. I had to use stage one with ventair or stage two with avent. My son is now six months and I switched him over to stage two ventaire a week ago...no more avent, he does great. Hope this helps..good luck !!!

We had Acid reflux with our little one and was using Alimentum with Cereal mixed in. We did use the Avent bottle and needed to make the singular nipple hole a little bigger/ wider using a thin metal skewer. Don;t poke anymore holes...Just make the one larger It worked for us. Also ask your doctor about Liquid Zantax. Our son was 5 months old and it relieved him enough to sleep through the night. Good Luck

Walmart sells these niplles they have like an x for the hole and they adjust to your baby sucking, so the harder they suck the more that comes out and vice versa. I found those very helpful with my daughter when she was a baby, just feeding her cereal through it, I used to use the little feeder bottles for a short time, but yeah they ork great, that way the babies don't get too much all at once.

I would try going online, like a babysRus. or ask your doctor, you may need to thin out the formula or use a different kind, and if they have acid reflux try setting them upright for 30 minutes after they eat, on a different formula.
