In the movie it is "revealed" to Nicolas Cage that there is a hidden map behinhd the Declaration Of Independence... My question is is the movie a non fiction film.(It is very convincing that it is a non-fiction film)

Ever seen "THe Da Vinci Code"?
if you paid attention to either, you'll realize one name came up in both.
The Templer Knights.
According to history they were sent to Jerusalem to find the Holy Grail.
In Da Vinci Code, the Grail was Mary Magdelin
In National Treasure, it was a treasure too big for just one person to own.
but in truth, they both are about the same thing,
also it talks about the free masons.. they are a histoic group that still exists today
Many politicians and leaders are part of the group. ive heard both Bush Sr and present president are masons. Ive heard JFK was one.
So my point is that while the story line in general is fiction, its based on historic myths and truths.

No, the movie is a work of fiction. The treasure part is a no because logistically where could they really keep that amount of treasure buried and it not be discovered but the things it touched on such as the incorporation of a pyramid with the all seeing eye with a Christian phrase is thought provoking. I have heard that there is a factual origin of the concept/program, but do not know how faithful to it the movie is. As for the toad, sounds to me like Rousseau accidentally stumbled upon a Yoda. Strong that toad was in The Force.

Everything else is just based around the trendiness of old symbols right now. Everyone and their dog is jumping on the conspiracy theory bandwagon.
