Unions served their purpose in the 30's since then they have been the major cause of rising prices on almost everything and the reason jobs/manufacturing have gone overseas, the high price of cars is because 750,000 are drawing extremely high retirement and paid not to work, the same goes for house's, I have a neighbor who installs insulation and laughs at how much he rips off his contractor's...with the unions demanding higher and higher wages and benefits it is one reason most people cannot plan a good retirement because the costs go up so high by the time they are ready to retire

The unions were a great idea in the beginning against unscrupulous and advantage taking employers, but now the balance has tipped too far, the unions are helping cause all of the above and do more harm than good. They need to move into the 21st Century.

I bet some of these licensed dry wallers get under cut by the illegal immigrants.

I know what it's like being undercut, I am a professional musician.

$25 an hour would be pretty poor pay for these people in Europe.

You are basing your assumption that they work year round.
Some construction workers do work all year, but many do not.
Also, many drywall hangers and finishers here in SoCal are here illegally anyway.
These guys also work their asses off.
