If he/she is jumpy wrap in towel and hold in lap (gently) and pull one leg out a time and use clippers (use cat nail clippers) and clip a little before the wick (blood line) if worried just do a little at a time. Have some stop bleed prior to clipping just in case you hit the wick.
Be patient and talk slowly...
Good Luck

Is your rabbit's nails white or black? If they are white then it will be super easy to clip it's nails. Use animals clippers. Do NOT USE HUMAN CLIPPERS. If the nail is white stop a teeny tiny space before the redness in the nail. That place is the quick and if you clip that, the rabbit's nail will bleed. Quick stop can stop that. You can find that at many pet stores. If it's nails are black, then it is sometimes a guessing game. Just take a little off and they should be fine. Sometimes you can also see the quick in the nail and then you would clip the nails like you would if they were white. I hope this helps. If you need anymore help just e-mail me.

Set the rabbit on a table with a small carpet on it. Place your hand behind it's head and grab the hide behind it's head then wrap your thumb around the base of the ear as close to the base as you can (this gives you control over the head). Put your other hand on the rabbit's butt and roll the rabbit over on it's butt. Once you get the rabbit most of the way rolled over, move your one hand from the behind to the rabbit's stomach and spread your hand out like you are trying to palm a basketball. This helps balance the rabbit and keep it from kicking. After you get the rabbit settled down, use your arm to kind of pin it against your body.

If you are new to doing it, you might have someone clip while you hold. If you are pretty good at holding your rabbit or want to do it all on your lonesome once you have the rabbit pinned against your side with your forearm you can release the head. That gives you two hands to work with. Use the thumb of hand to press down the fur on the paw and expose the nails. You should see a line that has a darker area behind (colored toenails) it or a pink area behind it (white toenails). That is sometimes called a quick or wick or a number of other names, but NEVER cut beyond that line. Otherwise you will get into the rabbit's nerves and it will start squealing and bleeding etc. If you do happen to cut into that, just throw a little flour or baking powder on it or get some paper towels. I recommend leaving about and eighth of an inch between where you cut and the wick. That helps avoiding any nerves and it's not good to cut the nails too short. Dog nail clippers or cat nail clippers or fingernail or toenail clippers will work. Even wire clippers will work.

If the rabbit attempts to flip over, don't fight real hard to keep the rabbit upside down. It's often better to let them flip back over and re-flip them back over than to get scratched to death. You might want to wear an old coat while you cut the nails. Some people wear an apron then put cut out socks over their arms to avoid getting scratched.

You don't need to cut their nails real often. Once every 2-3 months will do fine.

Don't worry about the kind of clippers. The important things to learn are learning:

1.) how to flip the rabbit over and control it
2.) using your thumb to expose the nails
3.) recognizing the line where the nerves and blood vessels start and leaving enough room

The same way you clip a dogs or a cats or even a Guinea Pigs nails.
You must not hit the quick! Painful!!!
Also if you do nic the quick you need some quick stop I believe its called (you can buy that at the Pet Store). I'm sure if you call you local Pet Store or take it to the Vet they will show you how to correctly clip its nails without guessing and hurting the poor thing.

it's best to take the rabbit to a vet and clip its nail there

Usually rabbits will bite their own nails when they start to be bothersome.

gently, if you have to do it. it can be traumatic to the rabbit, though. i just let my have lots of space to run around on the balcony and i let nature take its course.

If you get their head a little lower than their butts they are slighly "hypnotized, easier to handle, use cat clippers to slip them
