My mother in law used to work for them if it is the one in Trevose Pennsylvania. I cannot understand why ANY company would want money up front to work for them? Under what guise? Is this a supposed "home business"?
In any case, I want want to understand in great detail "WHY" before I'd hand them any money (especially in the form of my credit card # or my checking account #).

Be cautious!

What's their reason for you paying this? Makes absolutely no sense, unless it's for union dues, safety equipment, etc.
