Anybody who genuinely enjoys listening to the music. I'm not really one to call people "posers" just coz they don't know every single detail about a band they like. So long as somebody is a fan of the music, and not just the scene/image associated with it, or to follow the crowd, they're a true and real fan in my books!

A real fan?
A real fan is anyone who cares about the music.
They dont have to own all the clothes, have all the CD's, know the band memebers names, or even know all the songs.
They just have to honestly like the music that they hear coming into their head.
To often people are to caught up in a movement, or scene, and forget why they are there in the first place.
Because they heard something special in the music.
So a true, real honest fan
is anyone, even someone who only likes the singles.

1.A true fan should be able to name at least 3/4 of all the bands songs
2. A true fan should not just like a bands for their looks, but for their music
3. They shouldnt pretend to hate them in front of people who dislike them. Theres no shame in liking a certain band just cos someone hates it.
4. I've seen myspaces of people pretending to be somone from a band. W R O N G!
5. You should be able to name the members of the bands
6. You should own all their albums
7. Dont start rumors about them, even if they are supportive
rumors.
8. Own their merchandise. Examples: T shirts, key chains, singles, posters, ect.
9. If you want MP3 versions of their songs, dont get them off of someone who already bought it, or get it illegally off of a website.
Buy it off of iTunes or something. They deserve money for their work.
Im a true fan of lots of bands.
In my opinion this is what a true and real fan is.

Someone who can name every album, every song, the original or longest lineup of that band. as a bonus, to be able to name the peak chart position of every song released.

All the albums, studio and live ones...at LEAST 3-5 tee shirts, 2 or 3 being from concerts
