I've seen brides just walk themselves down the aisle. I never really liked the idea of the Mother, so I don't know if you are considering that. Is there ANY significant male in your life you can think of? It could be anyone, a relative, a friend, a neighbor, or a teacher you are close with. Don't let it get to you if you can't come up with an alternative. Hey what about your new father-in-law? Are you close to him?? It seems to me the rules and etiquette keep changing and the wedding doesn't ALWAYS have to fit what everyone expects as far as traditions, etc... Best wishes for a happy marriage! For that will be more important than all of the formalities.

I don't know what happened between you and your father but you should do some soul-searching before you exclude him from your wedding. He will not be around forever; what if he died tomorrow? My dad won't walk me down the aisle because he died and that is something I can't change. You do have the power to change the future, if that is something you want to do.
That being said, you may have completely legitimate reasons for not wanting your father to walk you down the aisle. That is fine because while there are traditions in weddings, there are no firm rules. It is perfectly acceptable for your grandfather, grandmother, or mother to walk you down the aisle. It is also perfectly acceptable (and increasingly popular) for you to walk yourself down the aisle. Just do whatever feels right for you. A wedding is meant to mirror your most heartfelt emotions. As long as it does that, it should be beautiful and moving. Good luck!

What I would do is ask your grandfather. I know if I was in your situation I would have asked my favorite grandfather. If not, pick your best guy friend or an uncle. Some women like to just walk on their own. People understand sometimes too that you don't have that man you want to walk you down the aisle. I hope that helps! Good luck!

Try an uncle, grandfather or even a best friend. The person walking you down the aisle doesn't have to be a best friend, it just has to be someone who you love, and who loves you!
Congratulations and Good luck! :-D

do you have a preacher? or any male friends at all? why does it have to be a male? it should be the most important person in your life male or female. Dont go by the rule books about this, use your heart, this is YOUR DAY, you make it what you want and dont worry about what everyone else thinks. I think its cool when I see a mother walkn her daughter down the isle...its very awsome..goodluck
