You're tying the knot in the wong place. Slide the tie around your neck so the front is longer than the back, then tie the knot.

If you have time, retie it. If you don't just tuck the tail of the back into your shirt between the buttons and try to keep the front piece directly in front of it. It's not a perfect fix but most men have had the same problem a few times and will understand. Women won't be shocked or offended either.

geez..so simple..when you are tying it, lengthen the back of the necktie until it comes out even..I work as a server in a restaurant and have to wear a tie everyday (not very feminine..eh?) I had to experiment many times til I got it even..good luck

Leave the back side or narrow side one foot shorter than the front or wide side before you start tying.
