I've read a couple of non-fiction books dealing with astral projection, but mostly as it relates to psychic vampirism. I don't put much stock in it, though. What happens when someone tries to wake you up and your spirit is off floating in a different world? If you get yanked back forcefully, does it have any lasting side effects?
Ooh... cool idea for a story.

Yes you should to it. People who die and come back from death say when they die they go to this place and it feels like waking up from a dream. Therefore this would is basically a dream to the next world. So while you are asleep i think it is totally possible to go anywhere. You are energy and the body is just a place to store this energy. So when you are asleep just let your energy (your mind and spirit) astroproject itself to where ever you want to go.

god i hope not. given the dreams i've had and the ones folks on here claim to have that would be one seriously messed up world.
but in all seriousness no i don't believe that for a second. i think this (the waking world) is the only world we have so it's best to leave your mark here and leave your dreams for what they are a simple by-product of REM sleep.

Let me answer your question with a question...
Can you prove your daily existance during your "waking" life is not really a dream state?
You could really be in a vat of saline solution right now like in the Matrix movie!

yes it is possible many people do and me my self do it all the time.. like last night i had a dream that i was running around the place and looking for something and when i woke up i was out of breathe and it felt like i was gripping something in my hand but then it went away...its quiet interesting how the soul/spirit travels...

Into another world-no. on to another world-maybe.
Second existence in dreams? Sure fantasy and illusionary thinking are way better than reality

Isn't it astral projection? But yeah it may be possible that what goes on in your dreams isn't just in your head.

No, but with the price of gas I wish we could do this while we're awake.
