Why go into a war that most people think has no point. Some people believe that the Jews were the terrorists by hiring Muslims to bomb the twin towers and the pentagon, also ive heard that we are just going into the war so we can get more oil. Anyways just want to hear some option and thoughts of what you guys think.

Thanks

As of last August 92006) the American Prospect magazine reported we had spent $1.27 TRILLION on the Iraq war (that $1 million a day for 3,487 years). Imagine had we spent that money on:
1. Rebuilding America's crumbling infrastructure;
2. Feeding America's hungry;
3. Upgrading America's schools;
4. Fighting America's political corruption;
5. Protecting America's environment;
6. Housing America's homeless;
7. Preserving America's parks and open lands;
8. Creating American jobs;
9. Cleaning up America's polluted air and waterways;
10. Rehabilitating America's criminals....
We could have done ALL that and still had BILLIONS left over!!! -RKO- 06/04/07

There are all kinds of rumors and theories going around, but no evidence to support any of it. The oil theory is the most laughable I think. There is a finite amount of oil in the Middle East. It will run out someday soon. There are much more richer sources of oil in the world that are not located anywhere near the Middle East. Why waste money and time fighting a war over a resource whose source is dwindling more and more every day? Just doesn't make sense.

It's a big mess. People thought we went to war to find WMDs, and now that we find there aren't any, this war has become illegitimate. Now we have sectarian violence, terrorism is increasing, and the whole world hates the US. The aftermath of the invasion has become a total disaster. Now we're stuck with few good options because the Iraqis can't get their act together while American soldiers are dying.

We're not getting much Iraqi oil. I'm not sure if we're getting any from Iraq. Their oil production is below prewar level due to constant attacks. Obviously any US action in Middle East could be traced to our need for energy/oil.

Oil war.
Designed by the mega oil companies,
Approved by the world bank (bilderburg),
Planned by the NeoCons (One World Gov.),
Sold as a humanitarian 'action' by Bush,
Paid for in our own blood.

IMHO, the only ones who have a right to an opinion about America's involvement in this or any other war are the ones who have and do put their lives on the line to defend her.

I think we are waisting wayyyy too much money in a pointless war. We could be using that money to enhance education in our country, or even for better things that improve our country rather than staying in Iraq, where more and more of our soldiers are dying. Its a useless war and it isn't getting American anywhere.

well I feel kind of shame to say this, but remember when Bush say "we Americans are addicted to oil"? Well turns out he was telling the truth.
