We are hoping to use our own garden cilantro in salsa this fall. We weren't sure how to grow cilantro. A crop of it is ready to harvest now. If we dry it for later use will it be any good? Is there a better way?

You can dry cilantro successfully. Fresh is always better, but dry cilantro is still pretty strong. The seeds on the plant will be strong longer and can be used successfully in salsa later in the year.

Replant it so it is ready when the tomatoes, peppers and onions are ready. Frozen or dried does not compare to fresh.

They can be dried in the shade, powdered by fingers, and stored for later seasoning.

you can wash it, dry it and freeze it...fresh is better than dry for salsa.
