I'm just curious how many of the old wives tales are true. :) I've heard that you're more than likely to have morning sickness if you're having a girl. This is true in my case and my sister-in-law's case. We both had boys and neither of us were sick. Is this true in your case--were you sick with your daughter but not your son? Just curious. :)

It's true for me. With my son, I was NEVER sick. I am 23 weeks and 3 days with a girl now and I was VERY sick from about 3 weeks up until 20 weeks. I lost about 10 lbs because of it! So, yes, I think the old wives' tale is true on that part.

Well it was true for me. I got sick a little bit at night with my son but I was so sick with this pregnancy (girl) I lost weight. I am 34 weeks and sometimes I still get sick.
I have also heard that being pregnant with a girl it steals your beauty. I know it's just an old wives tale but for me it was true. With my son I felt so cute and my hair got so thick and even curlier then it normally is. My skin got better too. Now with this one. I broke out all over the place. My once thick curly hair became life less unless I had a tone a product in it.and I just felt gross all the time. But now that I am closer to the end I am feeling a little better about myself.

That's why they are called old wives tales, they're not true. Every one is different, I have friends who never suffered any sickness at all and they had a few of either. I didn't, I had three boys and two girls.

i've only been pregnant with a girl so far, BUT i did have a really really bad case of morning sickness...from 6 weeks to almost 20....the actual throwing up only lasted til around 16 or 17 weeks but the headaches and nausea continued until 20 weeks and then i got a medicine from the dr. it was just vitamin b6 but it helped a lot with the nausea!! anyways, my sister in law is pregnant with a boy right now and she only got the nausea a little bit, not so much the throwing up!! i hope that helps a little bit...

I was MORE sick with my son, than daughter. I was sick with my daughter from the week I found out I was pg with her, to about 5 months. I had complete nausea for the entire pregnancy with my son, and serious all day sickness til 6 months, it was horrible. I just knew he was a girl, but nope. he is as boyish as they come!

I'm pregnant with a girl right now, (33 weeks) and the most morning sickness I had with her was a slight stomach ache. I mean...I just thought I had a touch of a virus. With my son...oh honey. I was sick for 8 months to the point where they were giving me prescription drugs to allow me to eat at all.

I have a boy and 2 girls. All the old wive's tales are just silly. If one worked for 1 of my girls, it didn't for the other.

Not true. I had morning sickness with my daughter and with this pregnancy and I'm having a boy.

Yes--my daughter was first and I was sick almost the first 5 months. Only gained 17 pounds the whole time, and lived on chicken noodle soup and boiled ham sandwiches.
