You are right to be worried. I don't think you should leave your children there until they are old enough to communicate things to you and you can teach them about good and bad touches and what to do if someone tries or threatens them. It's hard to trust anyone, even family, especially adolescents. Men just don't have the protective instincts that mothers have so don't let him talk you into something you don't feel good about. Trust your motherly instincts, you can't be too careful. If you do have to leave them there, let the 11 and 13 year olds know that you are on to them and if they touch your children inappropriately in any way you will know and you will see that they are sent to juvenile detention. Maybe that sounds harsh, but whatever it takes to protect your babies is okay in my book.

I've had the same mother in law for 25 yrs and we've had our differences but yes I do trust her. After all she must be ok because she raised the man I've been married to for 25yrs and that I've loved since I was 19 years old. Besides after all these years she still thinks I'm pretty. And my kids think she the best grandma this side of heaven.

Wow, is she really that scary? Has she said anything threatening to you in the past? Is she a mean & evil person? Honestly most mother-in-laws are okay, although I'm not an expert. I've been married 26 years and never met my mother-in-law.

Do I trust my Mum-in-Law? Yes. I have helped her and she has helped me.
Looked after her while Dad-in-Law was in hospital with stroke, and she stood by my side when Hubby and I had problems. She could have said good-bye when Hubby did, but said I was still part of the family. He came back, but she stayed by my side.
The In-Laws are good people, as are my Parents. Just lucky I suppose.

Yep, I trust my mother-in-law - she's deceased! From what I understand she was an evil woman, so this is the only way I would ever trust her.
My mother-in-law from my first marriage was a doll.

I'm with ya. She watches the kids sometimes for a hour or so because I work 7am to 7pm and my hubby workes 7pm to 7am. I dont like it I will almost wreck trying to get here. She hangs around his x wife ALL the time and tells her everything she will tell here things about my kids before she even tells me. And when we first got to gether she'd snoop in our stuff and unlocked the door and walked in on us having sex 3 times. I was pissed I also bought a sliding lock so he couldnt get in. I tolirate her for my hubby but I dont like her.

While my husband was in Iraq I lived with my in laws. I'll never live with them again! My mil told me that I should divorce her son and let him get on with his live. That she never wanted her son to marry me and I ruined his military life. Well when he got back and left the military. I told him every thing and we moved from MA to KA. Far away from the in laws. The MIL used me for money when I lived with her and as far as I know hubby hasn't talked to her scense her birthday. I won't trust her with the kids, our money or living near us. I told hubby that his mom won't be staying in our house it she comes to visit us.
