Really YOU shouldn't be inviting anyone. A shower is usually given by someone else for you. It isn't tasteful to throw your own shower.

I attended a baby shower yesterday. I sat there bored for 3.5hours. Maybe I shouldn't think think way but really how many times can you ooh & aww over baby butt paste??? Okay my personal thoughts on my "future" baby shower will be a small luncheon/or outdoor picnic (weather permitting) for future grandmothers, aunts, and a few dear & close friends. I can literally only see 25 people at my future shower. now onto the silly games, in my experience you play a cheesy 5 minute game and win a candle from the dollar store. yeah some of the games are cute, but I don't need another candle.

so the question here is do you want small & intimate or do you want everyone you ever known to know your pregnant and its your shower day?

Well, a good rule of thumb to remember is that you will get about 30% attendance based on the # of invites you send. I think a baby shower should be limited to about 20 guests (MAX!) so don't send more than 60 invites. 20 guests is rather a large baby shower, so if you can whittle your invitation list down to about 45, that would really be better.

Enjoy the baby shower, and congratulations on the baby!

Invite as many as you want, but make sure the entertainment is there!!! At my shower my sister and friend had so many activities for the men/fathers and women/mothers who attended. We had it outdoors at a park so everyone's kids could entertain themselves. Have lots of games and games that involve the men if you invite any.

Good luck and enjoy your day!!!!!!

Every one you can think of. I invited 97 people to my first and 76 showed up I didn't have to buy any diapers until my daughter was almost 1 year old and she wore a new outfit almost everyday. i held it at a communnity center and had a lot of food and games even gifts for the winners, it was great so for my second 93 showed up! Do it up girl.

as many as you can afford to feed. i invited almost everyone i knew, but it did reduce as the shower date got closer. so be prepared for plus or minus. and call and make sure people are still coming a week before, and the day before. to make sure you ordered enough food.

You can invite as many poeple as you want. The more people the more gifts for your baby and the more prepared you'll be. In my family we always have big parties and its always more fun and entertaining that way. Do what you want. Have fun.

As many as you'd like. It's totally up to you. If you have a lot of friends and family, great! That's more things for your baby.
